H. atrata (Gmelin, 1791)is one of 36 species in genus Herpetopoma found in waters of Raja Ampat. Particularity of this species are on serrations on it shell. Size of the shell could reach 18,4 cm. H. atrata has operculum which sometimes hidden. Habitat of this species is rocky intertidal area.
