Outcomes from this research include establishing the Genetics Laboratory of UNIPA as a site for a field station, a museum, the digitization of voucher specimens, a project web, and for databases of marine biodiversity. The field station will support genetic and molecular analysis of marine organisms in eastern Indonesia. Specimens collection activities will include specimen care and preservation of collection in order to provide essential resources to meet professional standards and facilitate extensive research in the future.
Digitization of specimens are important to find and access of specimen data. The goal of the project web is to share and disseminate information about the project. Other outcomes from this research also include a manuscript of Conservation Genetics and a newsletter Indonesian Biodiversity Conservation-Raja Ampat (IBC-R4). This manuscript will be published and used by Indonesia universities, especially in Biology Departments. Whereas the newsletter will provide information on all levels of marine biodiversity and the progress of the project.
